Is It The Apocalypse?

I don’t want to sound ungrateful, but it’s been 2 1/2 months since I started harping about the hateful Montana GOP plank.
There’s been some press here and there, and I thought, “maybe with the mid-term elections looming, this might become an issue.”

Sigh.

I was about to give up hope, but now, Republican State Sen. John Brueggeman (R-Polson) is speaking out.
You heard me.

Brueggeman’s record isn’t so hot on human rights, but it’s a start.  CLICK HERE for the story.

Update: CHA-CHING! Huffington Post story here.

Oh, and the sarcasm is just genetic. Irish, mostly….

  1. [...] In fact Republicans have voted over and over again on the wrong side of these issues, (and so has the Montana GOP’s token moderate John Brueggeman.) [...]

Well, I can’t say that MHRN is a good yardstick. I looked at Sen Brueggeman and his 44% and then went to the bills used to measure, and couldn’t get to supporting much more than 50 percent myself. What part of “illegal” does the MHRN not understand?

I’m all for the individual rights of Americans; legal, hard working, americans and their legal family members. That includes individual rights of women and gays. But it also includes Americans’ rights to control their borders and keep criminals out of their country.

The other problem I have is that MHRN doesn’t respect one of the oldest and most basic of Lockean rights, the right of property. Some of their bills are nothing more than “what’s yours is mine”.
